Freedom to move in the metropolitan region

Individually mobile

The Nuremberg Metropolitan Region is located in the heart of Europe and gives the people who live here a great deal of freedom to move around. In addition to public transport services, you can also take advantage of a first-class infrastructure for your individual mobility needs. With the A 3, A 6, and A 9 autobahns as well as the A 70 and A 73, you can travel on an extensive network of long-distance roads. The local roads and urban road networks are equally well developed.

It goes without saying that you can also easily switch to your bike. Not only does the Pan-European Cycle Route run through the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region for 320 kilometers – cities and districts are also ideal for cyclists in everyday traffic with their generously sized bike lanes. Other bicycle freeways connecting the Nuremberg area and the surrounding towns and cities are being planned and expanded. In addition, there are car-sharing schemes or shared mobility options via regional ride-sharing services. Simply scroll down … on this page you will find all the essential information!

Car-sharing in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region

The future of mobility

Are you interested in always having a car available when you need it without actually owning one yourself? Then car-sharing represents an attractive way for you to get around the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. Besides saving money, it also supports an environmentally friendly mobility concept.

Several car-sharing providers in the region make their cars available across various locations. Depending on the provider, you often have access to a large national and international partner network. After registering, which you can either do online or at one of the provider’s branches, all you have to do is get in and drive away. Where you decide to go is up to you!

Why not combine public transport and individual mobility? The Verkehrsverbund Nürnberg (VGN) cooperates with a number of regional car-sharing providers, which in turn offer a discounted rate for VGN customers. The car-sharing stations can be found near the VGN stops, enabling you to change over quickly and conveniently. VAG customers also benefit from preferential rates with some providers.
